Expansion at Cheshire assembly business
CCS Electronics has hired 15 new staff, and increased its turnover by 15% following success in winning high technology assembly contracts
According to Colin Mason, Supplier Development Consultant of Instem Technologies, the decision to award the contract is an element in the process of the development of an integrated logistics strategy across the company's two sites in Hythe, Hampshire, and Stone, Staffordshire.
'Following our acquisition of the Hythe site two years ago, our key drive in purchasing has been to develop an integrated and coherent logistics strategy across our two sites.
This has involved reviewing and rationalising our supplier database, and incorporating Kanban processes and the latest ERP materials management strategies.
The ability of Abacus Polar to partner with us at this level, and their flexibility in supplying nonfranchise as well as franchise lines, enables us to pursue our supplier rationalisation strategy and develop electronic logistics strategy, and has lead to us expanding our business with them', he said.
Amanda Parker, Sales Director of Abacus Polar, added: 'Abacus has always focused closely on building strong relationships with the traditional distribution customer base, including UK-based EMS providers.
This focus has allowed us to build a long-term relationship with Instem Technologies, which has today borne fruit in the signing of a significant new supply agreement'.
