Aaeon, an industrial PC manufacturer, has unveiled the Fox-80 multi-purpose, waterproof panel PC.

The Fox-80 is a slim, rugged, fully sealed (on all six sides) and fan-less enclosure panel PC.

It is an 8.4in SVGA colour TFT-LCD panel PC with Intel ULV Celeron M 1.0GHz processor and system memory (up to 1G).

The flexible I/O ports include two COM ports, two USB ports, one optional audio line-out port and a local-area network (LAN) port.

In addition, this model accommodates one compact flash drive (internal slot) and one mini-PCI slot for expansion.

The Fox-80 also supports Windows XP Pro and the Windows XP Embedded Operating System.

Owen Huang, product manager of Aaeon's Panel Appliance and Automation Division, said: 'This small-size waterproof panel PC can be applied to warehouses and the logistics industry for real-time data assistance and optimising workflow.

'In addition, the Fox-80 has been upgraded by a high-luminance LCD [Fox-80STT -650nits] and low-reflection touch screen to increase sunlight readability.

'It also provides brightness control - day and night modes for power saving and driving safety.

'Thus, the Fox-80 is an ideal unit for rugged, outdoor and vehicle applications,' he added.

It also equips optional wireless LAN (IEEE 802.11b/g), GPRS and GPS with a range of operating temperatures for warehouse, logistic, marine, vehicle, factory automation and outdoor kiosk.

In addition, the IP-65 waterproof panel PC is said to meet the requirements of harsh environments from consumable, chemical, pharmaceutical and cement factory automation.
