‘Ultracapacitors’
An Electronicstalk guide
Start with the news release TPLE ultracapacitor cells power hand-held devices from Tecate Industries, which we summarised at the time by saying "Tecate has added new products to the Powerburst range of cylindrical, radial leaded ultracapacitor cells to provide pulse and hold-up power in hand-held and portable devices using microprocessors.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Tecate ultracapacitors feature good power handling from Tecate Industries: "Tecate has announced the release of PBM Ultracapacitor Modules for powering, backing up or bridging power in a wide array of industrial electronics, telecommunications and military applications. ".
In August 2010, we covered the news from Cypress Semiconductor - take a look at Battery-free power subsystem prevents data loss which says: "Agiga Tech, a subsidiary of Cypress Semiconductor, has introduced a battery-free intelligent power subsystem that prevents the loss of critical data due to power interruption.".
Take a look also at the news release from AEG Power Solutions, AEG power systems utilise alternative energy, as well as Young offers third-generation ultracapacitors from Young Electronics, and Boostcap ultracapacitor cells operate at 2.7V from Maxwell Technologies.
