Several months prior to that, we featured the news release Sensor IC withstands harsh automotive environments from Allegro Microsystems: "Allegro Microsystems has launched the A1356, a user-programmable linear Hall-effect sensor IC with a pulse width modulated (PWM) output for automotive gear and clutch detection and position sensing.".
