Start with the news release Sensor IC withstands harsh automotive environments from Allegro Microsystems, which we summarised at the time by saying "Allegro Microsystems has launched the A1356, a user-programmable linear Hall-effect sensor IC with a pulse width modulated (PWM) output for automotive gear and clutch detection and position sensing.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release DC switch disconnectors for PV applications from Switchtec: "A range of DC switch disconnectors and string boxes for photovoltaic (PV) applications is available from Switchtec. ".
