‘Nanometre Designs’
An Electronicstalk guide
Start with the news release EASA certifies avionics unit with Altera processor from Altera, which we summarised at the time by saying "The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has certified a safety-critical avionics system that includes a DO-254/ED-80-certifiable version of Altera's Nios II embedded processor.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release CMOS image sensor put inside digital film camera from Cypress Semiconductor: "Cypress Semiconductor's CMOS image sensor has been designed into the 35mm Alexa digital motion-picture camera from ARRI, used to produce films including 3D movies and commercial shoots.".
In December 2010, we covered the news from Rogers - take a look at Rugged flame-retardent laminates for military PCBs which says: "Rogers has introduced XT/duroid high-performance thermoplastic laminate materials, suitable for high-frequency multilayer circuits in military, aerospace and deep-space applications.".
Take a look also at the news release from Molex, Valve connector simplifies manufacturing process, as well as VGA for wireless infrastructure transceivers from Maxim Integrated Products, and Globtek offers desktop-style power supplies from Globtek.
