‘Microphones’
An Electronicstalk guide
Start with the news release MEMS microphones can be used in mobile phones from Wolfson Microelectronics, which we summarised at the time by saying "The WM7210 and the WM7220 MEMS microphones are ideal for applications such as mobile phones, PCs, portable media players, digital still cameras and navigation devices. ". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release WM8958 enables HD audio in portable multimedia from Wolfson Microelectronics: "Wolfson's WM8958 audio hub solution is designed to enable high-definition (HD) audio in portable multimedia applications, such as smartphones, tablet computers, e-books and navigation devices. ".
In October 2010, we covered the news from Maxim Integrated Products - take a look at H.264 video compression cuts security DVR costs which says: "Maxim Integrated Products introduces the MAX9530 - a four-channel analogue-to-digital front end for converting analogue video and audio signals to the digital format required for compression. ".
