‘Handset Makers’
An Electronicstalk guide
Start with the news release Atomic oscillators for small-form-factor apps from Symmetricom, which we summarised at the time by saying "Symmetricom's SA.45s Chip Scale Atomic Clock (CSAC) is suited for portable applications requiring precise synchronisation and time keeping in GPS-denied environments. ". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release IPs targeted at handset communication systems from Faraday Technology: "Faraday's new IPs have been silicon proven, targeted at the baseband-RF interface of LTE, WIMAX, CDMA and WLAN communication systems for both handset and infrastructure equipment. ".
In December 2010, we covered the news from Toshiba Storage Device Division - take a look at Self-encrypting drive targets shared desktop PCs which says: "Toshiba Storage Device Division (SDD) has launched the MKxx61GSYD, a 7,200rev/min 2.5in self-encrypting drive (SED) designed for commercial notebooks and security-sensitive applications. ".
Take a look also at the news release from Peregrine Semiconductor, Peregrine introduces SP6T radio-frequency switch, as well as FBAR duplexers for mobile handsets and terminals from Avago Technologies, and Senzero ICs control high-voltage sense resistors from Power Integrations.
