‘Daughterboards’
An Electronicstalk guide
Start with the news release Board explores microcontroller designs from Mouser Electronics, which we summarised at the time by saying "The PICDEM PIC18 Explorer Board is a low-cost demo board for the evaluation of Microchip's PIC18 microcontrollers.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release BNCs shed light on correct signal paths from Cambridge Connectors: "An innovative insulator material that acts as a light pipe to transmit light from a PCB-mounted LED at the rear of the connector to the front.".
In April 2008, we covered the news from Altium - take a look at High-performance FPGA is platform for innovation which says: "Daughterboard with Xilinx Virtex-4 FPGA expands prototyping options using the Altium Innovation Station.".
Take a look also at the news release from Gaisler Research, Core library is optimised for ASIC prototyping, as well as Connectors come in multiple configurations from Sullins Electronics, and ASIC prototyping board boasts biggest FPGA from Synplicity.
