‘Asic Vendors’

An Electronicstalk guide

Start with the news release EASA certifies avionics unit with Altera processor from Altera, which we summarised at the time by saying "The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has certified a safety-critical avionics system that includes a DO-254/ED-80-certifiable version of Altera's Nios II embedded processor.". Several months prior to that, we featured the news release FDS Software used in Fujitsu ASIC Reference Flow from Forte Design Systems: "Cynthesizer synthesis software has been selected for use in Fujitsu's application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) Reference Flow for the 40nm process technologies, along with 90 and 65nm. ".

In December 2010, we covered the news from Atmel - take a look at Atmel offers chipsets for 15in touchscreens which says: "Atmel has announced that it is shipping production quantities of the Atmel Maxtouch mXT1386 and mXT616 chipsets for large touchscreens up to 15in. ".

Take a look also at the news release from Altera, 28nm technology strategy targets wireless market, as well as Self-encrypting drive targets shared desktop PCs from Toshiba Storage Device Division, and Heavy-duty touchscreen for interactive displays from Zytronic.
