The EM1500 serial-Ethernet bridge is a device that converts multipoint serial communications to a TCP/IP network. The EM1500 connects to and network enables as many as four RS232 serial devices simultaneously, while also acting as master on a multidrop RS485 network. In addition, the EM1500 provides an SPDT relay, two digital open collector outputs and three digital inputs suitable for interfacing to mechanical switches or logic level circuits.

The EM1500 is designed to allow easy setup and monitoring via a "black box" approach.

No programming is needed.

The tight integration of hardware and software offers unparalleled reliability.

Quick configuration over Ethernet, using a web browser or the stand-alone GUI configuration program, is easy and convenient.

The EM1500 interfaces with all types of serial devices: modems, sensors, card readers, bar scanners, printers, and other data acquisition/control devices.

Having two EM1500s allows the creation of a transparent serial bridge, thereby using some of the more advanced software features, such as packaging and protocol conversions.

The EM1500 is priced at $249 (one-off).

Setup is minimal, as no programming is required to use its features.

EM1500 operation can be adjusted using the easy-to-configure GUI application.

The EM1500 is packaged in a steel case for rigorous use and is capable of withstanding harsh industrial environments.

A low-cost toolkit is available that contains all the hardware and software tools needed to jumpstart design, including documentation on CD-ROM, user's manual with schematics, multiple communication cables, and an AC adapter (USA/Canada only).
