ZBD Displays will present the story of its success at the annual conference for the British Liquid Crystal Society at the University of York.

ZBD Displays will present the story of its success at the annual conference for the British Liquid Crystal Society (BLCS) to be held at the University of York, from 11th to 13th April 2006 This year marks the 20th anniversary of the conference, with the list of speakers including academics from across the spectrum of LCD innovation

Dr Cliff Jones, founder of ZBD Displays, will demonstrate the transition the company has made from scientific pioneer to major player in the retail sector.

ZBD is also sponsoring the conference.

ZBD's bistable displays are changing the way retailers label their products, as they enable dynamic price change and information updates.

The displays will be aimed at promotional offers, so that prices can be altered instantly should competitors announce reductions in prices or better deals.

Research and trials have shown that ZBD's technology will cut running costs and significantly reduce the total cost of ownership.

"The LCD landscape has changed dramatically since the BLCD conferences began, with many of the innovations coming from the UK community".

"This year is a great opportunity to reflect on how far we have come", said Jones.

"ZBD is an excellent example of how scientific breakthroughs can be translated into commercially viable propositions for customers, and we're keen to promote this path to other society members".
