Young Electronics Group has a brand new line of white LEDs based on the latest non-YAG (yttrium aluminium garnet) phosphor technology. The company reckons the new range of white LEDs will deliver superior performance in many different illumination applications and lead to a growth of LED market worldwide. Iric Yodts, Business Development Manager at Young's, commented: ' Customers have now realised that it is paramount to source cheaper white LEDs which do not infringe on the patents of the market leader Nichia'.
'Our new partner has combined a proprietary non-YAG phosphor with the brightest blue chip on the market to produce in excess of 11cd in a 5mm LED and 140 lumen in a 5W LED.
We are confident that by introducing this new line of white LEDs we can secure market competitive edge by offering cheaper and legal white LEDs'.
In these new white LEDs non-YAG phosphor is compounded with powder epoxy making the compounded phosphor tablet-like.
The LEDs are ideal for indoor architectural lighting, decorative lighting, torch lighting, photoflash, traffic signalling and other general applications.
'This new line is very important to our strategy', added Yodts, 'as it enables us to provide our customers with a more high spec product profile'.
'At Young's we are continuously looking to offer our customers a complete range of LED solutions'.
'The opening up of this new portfolio means we are able to offer safe and reliable power solutions for applications in consumer and industrial electronics, transportation and telecommunications'.
