Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE) has ordered the first of a series of X-Tek Hawk systems

X-Tek expects to ship the first Hawk system in the current quarter to ASE's Kaohsiung, Taiwan production facility. Further systems will follow during 2003 and 2004. According to ASE Vice President of Operations TS Chen, the X-Tek Hawk systems will be used for quality control inspection of BGA, CSP and micro-BGA.

Chen commented, "These machines will help ASE cement its position as a leading semiconductor assembly subcontractor by maintaining the highest quality control inspection procedures".

Paul Ramsay, X-Tek Systems' Sales and Marketing Manager added: "We are pleased to be working as a systems vendor to ASE.

Winning this order consolidates our position as the world's leading supplier of high quality microfocus X-ray inspection systems.

The Hawk systems for ASE are now in full production at our UK manufacturing base".

The X-Tek Hawk is ideal for most semiconductor packaging applications and for PCBs up to 530 x 350mm.

In use, this competitively priced high performance system offers a five-axis fully programmable manipulator; geometric magnification up to 2400x; system magnification up to 6000x and feature recognition down to 1 micron.
