Two new rack consoles each combine a 15in LCD monitor, keyboard, mouse, speaker and KVMA switch allowing daisychain connections with up to eight computers.

No special cables are required for these connections.

The LKM-9358 differs from the LKM-9268A in that allows the keyboard to be retracted when not in use, but allowing the monitor to be viewed still.

The LKM-9268A requires both monitor and keyboard to be exposed when either is being used.

The LCD module supports channel change control, auto scan control, and programmable station naming.

The LKM-9268A/9358 enables multiple computers to be controlled and accessed from a central user console instead of moving from one to the other, thus providing savings in equipment costs, space, and power costs.

There is no need for additional peripherals for each computer with only connecting cables between the LKM-9268A/9358 switch and the computers required.

This is an ideal solution for an Internet data centre, testing lab, or network operating centre, where multiple computers are required.

The eight-port KVMA switch can be either manually or automatically set via the LCD module.

The system is "hot pluggable" allowing computers to be added or removed without having to power down the switch.

An embedded speaker supports alarm warnings or other audio applications.

"The number of computers supported by the LKM-9268A/9358 rack console can be increased by daisychaining multiple KVM-008B switches to the KVMA switch in the rack console", said Nick Coxhead, Technical Director of Wordsworth Technology.

"Using the KVM-008B switches allows a maximum of 225 computers to be controlled by one LKM-9268A/9358 rack console".
