The award has been won specifically for the cutting edge technology in Wolfson's WM9713L, a highly integrated audio semiconductor device for advanced multimedia mobile phones. Andy Pringle, Wolfson's VP of Quality, commented: 'It is a tremendous honour to receive this award in recognition of the design of one of our leading products and I am delighted to collect it on behalf of the company'.
He continued: 'The WM9713L provides outstanding levels of integration for mobile communications devices and its success is testament to Wolfson's design expertise'.
The Innovation award is given to businesses who can 'demonstrate substantial improvement in business performance and commercial success, to levels that are outstanding for the size of the operation'.
The WM9713L was introduced by Wolfson in 2004 and is used by companies designing PDAs, mobile phones and similar handheld mobile communications tools.
