The award, for outstanding financial performance by a private company, was one of only four awarded in this category. Wolfson was the only non-US company. Others in the category include Atheros Communications, Cybercore Technology and Silicon Optics. In order to be considered for this award, companies must demonstrate that they have doubled either revenue or net income over eight consecutive quarters ending September 2002.
"The economy has been difficult for the technology sector during the past year, with semiconductor companies taking the brunt of the blow", said Jodi Shelton, FSA's Executive Director and co-founder.
"Wolfson stood out among its peers, proving that despite the odds, it is possible to be financially successful in a down market.
We salute them for their accomplishment and we are proud to count them among the FSA's membership".
"We are pleased to be included in such august company", said David Milne, Managing Director for Wolfson Microelectronics.
"I believe a large part of this financial success comes from our ability to align our unique technical expertise with specific customer needs".
