Wind River Systems has released its hardware bring-up tools for Motorola's PowerQUICC III communications processor, which is based on the Book E PowerPC e500 core
Wind River Systems today announced the general availability of its hardware bring-up tools for Motorola's PowerQUICC III communications processor, which is based on the Book E PowerPC e500 core. With Wind River tools and early availability of Wind River technology for the PowerQUICC III, customers can take advantage of this high-performance processor immediately - allowing them to focus on building advanced networking applications that provide significant market advantage.

With the general availability of Wind River's Wind Power ICE and Wind Power IDE 1.2 products, early adopters of Motorola's MPC85xx processor family have the complete board bring-up solution they need to get their job done quickly and efficiently.
In addition to its hardware bring up tools, Wind River plans to support this processor family by providing MPC8540 and MPC8560 support in the following products: hardware development boards, BSPs, Tornado 2.2.1 development tools and Wind River Platform for Networking Equipment (PNE).
