Wind River has awarded a "Cool customer design" to Kenwood USA for its recently launched Kenwood Sovereign Entre Entertainment Hub, an audio component that stores and streams compressed music files, Internet radio, and serves as a main controller for other Kenwood Sovereign offerings within a home entertainment system.

The Kenwood Sovereign Entre was jointly developed with OpenGlobe, a leading entertainment services and media device technologies provider, who integrated key aspects of the audio and video interface, delivering Internet services that make this device uniquely powerful.
The OpenGlobe technology allows consumers to organise, manage and play their media as well as personally explore their media interests.

The intuitive TV screen interface allows users to access movie and music metadata, cover art, Internet radio stations from Sirius Satellite Radio, Radio Free Virgin and a range of other "behind the entertainment" information via OpenGlobe Entertainment Services.
Additionally, this system connects to and controls other Kenwood Sovereign audio and video system components, while providing a streaming audio source for other devices on a home network, from its 20Gbyte, high capacity music storage device.
Wind River's reliable operating system and proven compliant networking technology helped simplify the integration and test burden in developing this highly connected device.
