It connects multiple dial-up users from a PSTN/ISDN telephony network to a data-centric IP network, facilitating a wide spectrum of IP-based data access services including e-commerce, networked education, networked medical caring, and home office portals.
The Matix2000 network access server provides a high port density, large capacity, carrier class solution for a wide variety of services and multiple network specifications.
It enables easy system expansion with multiple racks, and can flexibly expand up to more than 10,000 ports to build large-scale centralised Internet service providers.
The system supports R2, DSS1, and CCS No7 signals, as well as trunk, local area network (LAN), and wide area network (WAN) interfaces.
In addition, the Matix2000 can easily upgrade to support broadband multiple service access platforms, allowing dial-up services, multilink point-to-point protocol (PPP) services, virtual private dial-up network (VPDN) services, and trunk group aggregation.
"Shanghai Bell chose Wind River's technology and services because of its proven quality and value", said Yao Zhaoping, director of research and development for Shanghai Bell.
"Wind River's reliable products allowed us to manage the wide array of complex technical aspects of this project and was easy for our developers to use.
It allowed us to get our product to market ahead of the competition.
China Telecom chose the Matix2000 network access server for its network.
We envision that the Matix2000, will also help us in the rapidly expanding Asian market of access servers".
