Aptix is to integrate its System Explorer hardware accelerator with Verisity's eCelerator testbench acceleration tool.

Aptix is to integrate its System Explorer hardware accelerator with Verisity's eCelerator testbench acceleration tool.

Aptix will integrate the two products as a member of Verisity's Interoperability Partners (VIP) programme.

Verisity's eCelerator enables the power of the Specman Elite verification process automation with the high performance of hardware-assisted verification.

An integrated solution between eCelerator and the System Explorer will significantly increase verification performance while providing users with a single environment from simulation all the way through to prototype.

"Being able to use hardware verification earlier in the design flow is a vital step for system-level verification", said Raj Mathur, Director of Software Technical Marketing at Aptix.

"The integration between System Explorer and eCelerator will provide dramatic benefits for customers, enabling a single flow that combines the best of both technologies: the high speed of System Explorer and the power of Specman Elite".

Aptix's System Explorer is the fastest and easiest-to-use flexible hardware platform for building reconfigurable pre- and post-silicon prototypes with multiple state-of-the-art FPGAs.

Through integration with eCelerator, engineers will be able to synthesise and accelerate their testbenches written in the e verification language onto System Explorer.

Using the proper methodology, Specman Elite users can synthesise highly active portions of the e testbench, including bus functional models, monitors, data checkers, assertion checkers, and error messaging.

A key benefit of this integration is the ability of users to apply emulation earlier in the design process to perform system-level verification and ensure that the design works in the system environment before committing to silicon.

Users are also able to automate the verification process because they retain all of the power of Specman Elite, including automatic generation of tests, data and assertion checking and functional coverage analysis.

"Interoperable verification solutions are a must for verification engineers working at the system level.

Our partnership with Aptix provides engineers with another option for system verification", said Dave Tokic, Director of Strategic Marketing for Verisity.

"Aptix's solution, combined with eCelerator, will provide much needed performance and flexibility to verification engineers.

We welcome Aptix to the VIP programme and look forward to working with them on the integration between eCelerator and System Explorer".
