The ISS Group has joined the Verisity Interoperability Partners (VIP) programme. The VIP programme brings Verisity together with other verification tool providers for the purpose of developing and supporting integrations between the companies' solutions. In addition, the ISS Group has released Rose, a new EDA tool for optimising and automating the work of regression testing.

Through the VIP programme, the ISS Group will integrate Rose with Verisity's Specman Elite testbench automation solution.

Rose automates the process of massive simulation and orchestrates an existing CPU park towards meeting a preset coverage goal.

"Designers and verification engineers are accustomed to running simulations all the time, but it's a slow, painful and mostly manual effort with little common control of the many different results, especially for large, multi-user projects that share data across a network", says Magnus Ljung, initiator of Rose.

"By using Specman Elite with Rose, engineers can set a functional coverage target and automatically run hundreds of simulations in parallel across the network to achieve the coverage goal, thereby maximising the use of CPU power available".

Ljung continues, "When the functional or code coverage target is not met, simulation stops and an intelligent analysis is performed by an external verification tool, like Specman Elite.

Based on the results, the user can make changes to the test cases and quickly meet their coverage objective".

The VIP programme enables Verisity's partners to develop and support their own integrations, allowing Verisity to foster the development of many more interoperable verification solutions and give customers a wider choice of verification tools to choose from when creating their environment.

As a member in the programme, partner companies have committed to develop, test, support and maintain integrations between their products and Verisity's.

Verisity provides partners with tool licenses, documentation, support and software updates.

"We welcome the ISS Group to the VIP programme", said Dave Tokic, Director of Strategic Marketing for Verisity.

"Specman Elite customers should benefit greatly from using Rose as our close partnership will bring greater interoperability to our mutual customers for coverage-driven verification.

The power to automate the coverage-driven approach to simulation is now in the hand of the individual user".
