Stainless steel SMA connectors that meet or exceed the performance requirements of MIL-PRF-39012 are now available in Europe from Vitelec Electronics. The range is ideally suited to, among others, antennas, basestations, cellular radio, RF and microwave components, radar, satcom, aircraft and any application that requires operation in extreme environmental conditions. With all designs based on 50ohm system impedance, per MIL-STD-348, and operation at frequencies up to 26.5GHz, Johnson stainless steel SMA connectors combine superior durability with high frequency performance as all contacts are plated with 1.27um of gold.

Featuring stainless steel bodies that are designed with passivation as a standard finish - and gold plating where soldering is required - stainless steel SMA connectors also include plug interfaces and semi-rigid bulkhead jack bodies with gaskets specifically designed for environmental sealing.

Designed with cabled contacts that are captivated on assembly, and flexible cable contacts that can be crimped or soldered, the range also includes semi-rigid cabled plug connectors, available in one piece versions that only require a solder attachment between the cable jacket and connector body.

A right angle PC mount version features a rugged, one-piece body with a one-piece swept contact.

For applications where the high performance and superior durability of stainless steel connectors are not required, a range of lower cost, brass bodied SMA connectors is also available from Vitelec Electronics.
