Vitelec Electronics has introduced a new range of Johnson Type N connectors. Meeting or exceeding MIL-PRF-39012 performance requirements, the range is now available from Vitelec throughout Europe and is ideally suited to broadcast, military and aerospace applications. With designs based on 50ohm system impedance - as per MIL-STD-348 - Type N connectors operate at frequencies up to 11GHz, with semirigid cable connectors and in-series adapters capable of operation up to 18GHz.
Due to its superior, high-frequency performance, the range is perfect for basestations, cellular antennas, microwave radio, RF and microwave components, broadcast, PCS, SATcom and radar.
Offering several key advantages, including all contacts being plated with 1.27um of gold for enhanced durability coupled with high-frequency performance, Type N connectors feature captivated cable contacts which can be crimped or soldered.
Brass bodies are available with tri-alloy plating for improved PIM performance and gold plating where soldering is required.
Featuring hex-shaped coupling nuts to allow connectors to be tightened to a specified mating torque, the connectors include plug interfaces and bulkhead jack bodies with gaskets for environmental sealing.
The range's precision grade in-series adapters have very low return loss performance to 18GHz while cabled contacts are captivated on assembly.
Semirigid cabled plug connectors are available in one piece versions, requiring solder attachment only between the cable jacket and connector body.
