Vishay Intertechnology has revealed that its Vishay Electro-Films division has exceeded the revenue levels reached before the February 2002 fire at its Warwick, Rhode Island facility.
"The progress from the business side has been swifter than anticipated, and this is only the start", says Glyndwr Smith, Vishay's Executive Vice President for Marketing Intelligence.
"By the end of the year, we expect to have all new equipment in place and be in a position to rapidly increase capacity".
Last month, all employees moved from trailers back into the Warwick facility.
The facility meets the strict fire codes in Rhode Island, and is considered a model by the local fire department.
Over the next few months, a new plating line and sputtering equipment will be installed.
Vishay Electro-Films plans to host a grand opening and tour of the facility on 17th October 2003.
