Finnish accord to aid mobile developers
Two Finnish companies are working together on mobile application development and testing
Two Finnish companies, Cybelius Software and Validitas, are working together on mobile application development and testing. A part of the partnership covers the integration of the Cybelius Maestro simulation tool environment to Validitas CAIS. Cybelius Maestro is a powerful tool for modelling and simulating mobile devices and applications running on them.

Validitas CAIS simulates entire mobile networks with configurable conditions to ensure the functionality of applications in real networks.
Together the tools open new possibilities for mobile application development and testing.
The success of a new mobile service can now be justified cost-effectively with the approach recognising both the user interface and the network performance aspects.

"The user experience provided by a new service can be evaluated reliably only if both the user interface and the network performance are combined in a test phase.
The service may look good on a simulation running on a fast workstation in a local area network, but what happens when it is connected to real mobile networks.
The experience can be disappointing if the service works slowly and unpredictably", said Mikko Kerttula, Business Development Manager of Cybelius Software.
"Combining a realistic network simulation to a user interface simulation is an issue that has been asked by many of our customers.
We are very happy to co-operate with Validitas, because now we can offer our customers the solution they have been waiting for", Kerttula concluded.
"The device and its user interface controlling a mobile service are important parts of the total feeling the user gets from the service.
Realistic simulations of these parts and their easy integration into Validitas CAIS are valuable extensions for our customers.
Our customers demand state-of-the-art solutions to proactively address the potential quality problems, and our philosophy is to deliver", said Kari Mustajarvi, the Business Development Director of Validitas.
"The announced partnership with Cybelius Software is ideal for both of us, as we each continue to focus on expanding the market share and service to our customer bases", Mustajarvi concludes.
The Cybelius Maestro and Validitas CAIS integration has already been tested and demonstrated in 3GSM World Congress in Cannes, France in February 2003.
The future co-operation includes marketing, sales and technology co-operation focusing on the European and Asian markets.
Technology co-operation concentrates on the further integration of Cybelius Maestro and Validitas CAIS.
