Following its appointment as sole distributor for UK and Ireland, UR Group now supplies Unigen's WirelessUSB modules. The Juno WirelessUSB module range consists of over 40 devices featuring 10m, 50m or 1km ranges. Target applications include the industrial, consumer and medical sectors, with a typical use being the replacement of costly and labour intensive wiring looms for the short range and point-to-point or point-to-multipoint communication for the longer ranges.

The first modules, Juno-B and Juno-L, are based on a Cypress Semiconductor WirelessUSB, 2.4GHz radio-system-on-a-chip device.

UR will target the products at new areas, beyond the creation of wireless PC keyboards and remote controls.

Possible applications include remote utility metering and monitoring of emergency lighting.

The modules are compatible with existing operating system human interface device (HID) drivers.

Measuring less than 25mm square, the modules feature an integrated chip antenna or the option of a mini-coaxial connector for an external antenna and multiple mounting and orientation configurations.

Juno-B configurations are suitable for using a daughter board in the target device, via either a standard header interface or soldered directly to the main device circuitry.

The Juno-L can be supplied in normal, mirrored and bare board configuration options for off-board location via ribbon cable or may be mounted vertically similarly to the Juno-B.

Technical documentation for the modules, including over 150 reference designs and approved components, is also available.
