Ultra Electronics Manufacturing Services continues to develop its IPC training capability. All shop-floor employees are required to attend an IPC-610-Class 3 training course at the start of their careers at Ultra, Weymouth. This involves learning the key skills to achieving this workmanship standard for both conventional and surface mount products.
Staff are then recertified on an annual basis to ensure standards are maintained within the facility.
John Dean, Ultra Customer Services Manager at Weymouth states: 'Ultra possesses a dedicated training facility where small groups of trainees can develop their skills under the guidance of our qualified IPC instructor'.
'This provides an ideal learning environment thus ensuring product quality is at the forefront of our service offerings'.
'We are able to offer cost competitive training to other electronics companies and have even trained some of our customers' personnel in the IPC standards'.
