splices

The ES caps represent a low cost, all-in-one solution for applying both strain relief and a permanent seal, which will maintain the mechanical integrity, even in very harsh conditions.
Manufactured in a crosslinked polyolefin, the heat-shrinkable outer jacket is resistant to cut-through and abrasion and is lined with a hot-melt adhesive.
When heated the jacket shrinks down whilst the adhesive melts and flows to fill all voids.
Together they create a tight protective seal around the splice - a barrier against harmful chemicals like transmission fluids and diesel oils and protection from high temperatures, water wicking and corrosion.
In production, ES caps can be installed in a single operation, using an end stop to provide accurate wire alignment.
The high (4:1) shrink ratio enables just three different cap sizes to seal a wide range of substrate diameters and satisfy all popular applications.
Both the transparent standard ES cap and the black flame retardant ASTM D2671 option are UL approved for use in temperatures from -40 to +105C (125C with overtaping).
