New German subs to have Raychem wiring
Raychem has won a contract to supply the specialist wiring cables for control, communications and weapon systems on the new U-212 Class submarines being built for the German Navy
Raychem, a unit of Tyco Electronics Corporation, has won a contract to supply the specialist wiring cables for control, communications and weapon systems on the new U-212 Class submarines, being built for the German Navy by Howaldtswerke-Deutsche Werft AG (HDW) of Kiel Working closely with the shipbuilders and electrical equipment suppliers during the development phase, Raychem's Wire and Harnessing Division custom-designed specialised Raychem cables with the specific electrical and screening performance required for connecting the mission critical marine on-board equipment
