Tyco Electronics' Pico switching coax connector, measuring 2 x 2 x 0.9mm with 0.4mm self-alignment, delivers compatibility with the high frequencies used in mobile terminals within a miniature device.

For automatic testing, the connector's relatively large self alignment provides a larger tolerance for positioning of the test probe.

Coax radio frequency connectors with an integrated switch are widely used for accurate testing of a mobile device's radio output.

When a test plug is inserted into the top of the Pico connector, the antenna path is diverted from the mobile device's internal antenna to the test plug, thus enabling testing of the accuracy of the mobile device's signal.
