Lumexis FTTS system utilised by US Airways

Tyco Electronics has revealed how its Lumexis fibre-to-the-screen (FTTS) system has delivered weight savings and capability to the maiden flight of the US Airways A320 launched on 3 February.
The products supplied by Tyco Electronics aided a problem-free installation for the first US Airways A320 aircraft in Rome, New York.
The FTTS system combines industry standard ARINC 801 fiber optic interfaces with a very flexible fiber routing approach that maintains room for growth, assuring affordability for the long term regarding installed and applied costs.
Tyco Electronics closely assisted in the installation process, contributing to the successful delivery.
The fibre optic backbone and interconnect scheme was developed by Lumexis and Tyco Electronics, along with In Flight Canada, to provide the most efficient installation, thereby minimising the time spent out of revenue service.
