New launch EDA Expo, which was also part of EWEX, will now run on its own later in 2003.
Sarah Williams, event director spoke of the decision: "Since we acquired ECIF and OnBoard, the market has taken a considerable downturn and despite the new-look show being well received by the key players we felt we just haven't attracted enough support to be a strong visitor attraction.
We secured backing from all the major trade associations; loyal exhibitors and new companies and we would like to thank all involved for their input, time and support.
We will be reviewing the market in the next couple of months".
"However, EDA Expo has gained considerable interest and our sponsors and exhibitors to date are keen for us to reschedule in the event in autumn.
We are currently exploring venues and will be announcing the new dates in the next two weeks".
