The Open Mobile Alliance (OMA) has re-elected Lars Brenk, Senior Software Architect at TTPCom, as Game Services Working Group Chairman. As Chairman of the group, Brenk will help drive interoperability specifications, APIs and protocols for network-enabled gaming. The ultimate aim of the group is to enable game developers to build and deploy mobile games that are compatible with OMA platforms, thereby enabling cost reduction for developers, platform owners and service providers.

Brenk was first elected chair of the group in 2003.

Commenting on his election, Brenk said: 'TTPCom works closely with organisations from all corners of the industry and strenuously supports the extensive adoption of industry standards'.

'Consequently I am delighted to be in the position once again to actively guide the group towards this goal'.

'We are now moving closer towards the widespread roll out of high datarate services including Edge, 3G and beyond'.

'This brings with it potentially enormous opportunities for the mobile gaming industry, but also emphasises the ongoing requirement for industry-wide standards to enable the industry to fulfil its potential'.
