Memory cards come with a familiar name
Toshiba has responded to growing consumer demand for its memory card products by announcing the European launch of its own-brand SD cards, miniSD cards and CompactFlash cards
Based on Toshiba's industry-leading NAND memory technology, the new cards feature a five-year warranty and will deliver high quality and reliable removable media storage formats with capacities ranging from 32Mbyte to 1Gbyte. Toshiba's new card families have been designed to provide the market's most comprehensive range of removable memory options for audio, video, data and multimedia applications.

By offering standard and high-speed SD and Compact Flash cards, and the company's first range of miniSD products, Toshiba cards allow consumers to choose the best possible solution based on storage, speed and budget requirements.
The new cards are supplied in blister packs that have been specifically designed for high visual impact in a retail environment.
Each blister pack contains the card, a plastic card holder, and combines easy-to-read application icons with all of the key information that the consumer needs to rapidly make an informed purchasing decision.

Toshiba has also added a security hologram to the CompactFlash cards to give consumers peace of mind that they are purchasing a legitimate Toshiba CompactFlash product.
Discussing the launch of the new cards, Sandrine Aubert, Product Marketing Engineer for Toshiba's Memory Department, comments: "Consumers want the peace of mind of buying products from a company they can trust and the Toshiba brand is synonymous with quality and reliability".
"As the inventor and pioneer of NAND Flash, Toshiba offers consumers a proven, cost-effective and high-performance underlying memory technology, while the broad range of card formats, capacities and speeds allows them to choose the best card solution for their own individual requirements".
Aubert adds: "When buying memory cards, what many people don't realise is that they are actually paying a premium for performance that they will never use".
"Our philosophy for the Toshiba range of products is to provide a range of solutions that ensure the optimum price/performance ratio, whatever the application".
The new Toshiba standard SD cards are available immediately with capacities of 64, 128, 256 and 512Mbyte, with a 1Gbyte version arriving in Q4 2004.
High-speed SD cards are available with capacities of 128 and 256Mbyte, with a 512Mbyte version being launched in Q4 2004.
The range of miniSD cards features capacities of 32 and 64Mbyte, with a 128Mbyte version arriving in Q4 2004.
Toshiba's standard CompactFlash cards feature capacities of 32, 64, 128, 256 and 512Mbyte and 1Gbyte, with high-speed versions providing options of 128, 256 and 512Mbyte and 1Gbyte.
