Tilcon Software, the leader in device optimised graphical interface solutions, has announced the immediate availability of the Tilcon Interface Development Suite (IDS) and Embedded Vector Engine (EVE) for Windows CE 5.0. This is another demonstration of Tilcon's continued commitment to support Microsoft's embedded market strategy and its existing Windows CE based OEMs. Furthermore existing customers of Tilcon IDS can move to Windows CE 5.0 version without any work but simply a new engine plug and play.
The Tilcon IDS is claimed to offer unmatched industry specific solutions for the industrial, medical, defence, automotive, commercial vehicle and consumer device markets.
Since 1987 OEMs have leveraged Tilcon's unmatched graphics quality to differentiate their product and brand.
Whereas traditional graphics solutions are based on developing or generating source code, Tilcon offers Windows CE developers a next generation architecture built around an intelligent scalable Embedded Vector Engine (EVE) which substantially minimises a developers workload.
Unlike traditional code generation based GUI tools where application engineers are responsible for coding the screens, the Tilcon Interface Development Suite allows graphics designers to layout screens (skins) or simply import screen layouts through a point and click interface.
Once built and without writing code, engineers and graphics designers can perform system level simulations for their end customers.
Unlike traditional code based solutions, the Embedded Vector Engine (EVE) and skins are not bound into application code so engineers, graphics designers and even customers can change, reconfigure and rebrand their interfaces without affecting (ie without relinking or recompiling) the underlying application code.
Once completed, all screens will run unchanged on all Tilcon supported operating systems - Windows CE, Windows XP, Linux, VxWorks and QNX.
