Tilcon Software, the Canadian specialist for Graphical interfaces will present its technology at Embedded World 2005 in Nuremberg on Booth 11/126. The Tilcon Interface Development Suite (IDS) is a GUI and HMI builder consisting of three powerful components: it is billed as the fastest, most cost effective way to create today's demanding embedded graphical interfaces. The sharpness, reliability, and real-time performance of its high-end graphical objects result in precise, photorealistic displays and instrument clusters.
Examples of the displays will also be displayed at partners' booths, including Freescale, Wind River and HSP.
The release of Tilcon IDS version 5.3 raises the bar for the rapid development and deployment of embedded devices requiring high-end graphics.
New anti-aliasing and rendering techniques are a leap forward in screen sharpness and performance under running conditions.
With the possibility to run design and simulation under Windows and the following realisation under the target system (VxWorks, Windows CE, Linux and QNX), Tilcon achieves a unique position within the market.
Target markets are automotive, medical, consumer devices and industrial devices.
The paradigm shift from projects to platform is changing the competitive landscape.
To stay competitive, Tier 1 automotive OEMs cannot afford to concentrate on project-based solutions any longer as they are too costly, negatively impact time to market and cannot be cost effectively reused across multiple designs.
Thus, Tier 1 OEMs must move to building on a platform that is flexible enough to offer custom solutions for specific designs.
With its IDS Tilcon focuses on this platform approach.
In contrast to other HMI builders the Tilcon IDS is a multiplatform user interface builder (GUI/HMI) to create robust, highly interactive user interfaces for embedded systems.
Tilcon currently supports VxWorks, Windows XP/XP embedded, Windows CE, QNX and Linux based systems.
A wide range of processors are supported, including ARM, XScale, IBM PowerPC, Freescale PowerPC, MIPS and SH4.
Developers may use all standard C/C++ compilers.
The Tilcon Interface Development Suite (IDS) consists of three powerful components: the Tilcon Embedded Engine, a platform independent API and a visual Interface Builder.
Tilcon's runtime technology features some of the industry's most sophisticated GUI and HMI objects.
New anti-aliasing and rendering techniques are a leap forward in screen sharpness and performance under running conditions.
Advanced networking technology allows devices to perform remote control/display under all supported platforms and to dynamically update applications.
Tilcon's user interface technology is modular and scalable making it ideal for small footprint devices.
With OPC, ODBC, GIS Builder and pre-integration with numerous third party technologies (browser, haptics, touch screen etc), Tilcon IDS is an outstanding solution for embedded developers keen on delivering a better product to market - reliably, inexpensively and in record time.
Free demos and 30-day evaluation software can be found on the Tilcon website.
