Texas Instruments has announced a 16-channel, 24bit analogue-to-digital convertor (ADC) from the company's Burr-Brown product line which is claimed to feature the fastest channel cycle rate (23.7kSPS) and lowest latency (42us) in its class Fabricated on TI's high-performance, precision mixed-signal CMOS technology, the ADS1258 is optimised for multi-channel applications such as machine and system monitoring, data acquisition, medical, avionics, test and measurement, instrumentation, and industrial process control
