Audio amp IC pumps up the volume
The TPA6211A1 is claimed to be the highest output power mono Class-AB audio amplifier in the market today
Ideal for applications such as cellphones, smart phones and PDAs, the TPA6211A1 also cuts board space and gives designers more flexibility. 'The push toward more sound volume in the cellphone, smartphone and PDA market for applications such as hands-free talk-mode, surround sound music and gaming never seems to relent', said Nicholas Holland, Product Marketing for Audio Power Amplifiers at Texas Instruments.

The TPA6211A1 audio amplifier offers over 340mW of power per square millimetre, which is the highest output power Class-AB audio power amplifier for its size in the market.
It is capable of delivering 3.1W of power into a 3ohm load at 10% total harmonic distortion.
The device comes in a board-space-saving 3 x 3mm QFN or a 3 x 5mm MSOP package, providing OEMs, ODMs and subcontractors the manufacturing flexibility they need.
The TPA6211A1 is available today from TI and its authorised distributors.
Suggested resale pricing in quantities of 1000 is $0.55.
