Designers of portable high-performance applications with low-power requirements can increase system run-times and save board space by using new 1.2A synchronous step-down DC/DC convertors from Texas Instruments TI's TPS6204x family of step-down convertors enables an extremely low quiescent current of 18uA and 95% conversion efficiency to conserve battery life in one-cell lithium-ion (Li-ion) or three-cell nickel-metal-hydride (NiMH) and nickel-cadmium (NiCd) powered applications such as wireless PDAs, smartphones, notebooks and broadband equipment
