Texas Instruments has continued its growth in the DSL market, surpassing 20 million DSL ports shipped worldwide

In its seventh year in the DSL business, TI's high-performance ADSL technology and strong focus on interoperability has made TI a major supplier of infrastructure and customer premises equipment (CPE) chipsets to manufacturers around the world. More than 20 million DSL ports from TI have supported over 180 customers throughout Asia, the Americas and Europe.

With deployment in 45+ countries by over 100 service providers, TI is the leading technology provider for ADSL in Europe, the top central office chipset provider in China, and provides DSL technology for the top two CPE manufacturers in North America.

While TI is maintaining focus on more established markets such as North America and Europe and current growth opportunities in China, it is also concentrating on DSL deployments in developing regions such as Eastern Europe and South America.

'The key to success in the DSL semiconductor market is to provide more than just DSL chipsets.

Silicon providers need to provide the best performance, interoperability, software, support and feature enhancements like 802.11 and VoIP in order to win in this highly competitive market', said Ben Wagner, Director of Worldwide Marketing and Business Development for TI's DSL Business Unit.

'With seven years of DSL experience and a full broadband portfolio, TI is prepared for the next generation of DSL products with a roadmap of innovative and feature-rich chipsets that will be introduced this year'.

TI offers end-to-end DSL platforms that combine its successful history in the market and continuous investment in research and development.

To offer the best interoperability and widest deployability for OEMs, TI has built the most comprehensive interoperability labs to fully test TI-based solutions against other vendors' CO and CPE products.

Through active participation in DSL industry associations and standards bodies, TI is well positioned to provide the latest standards enhancements and is at the forefront of meeting the requirements of the next generation of DSL products.
