Texas Instruments has developed a highly integrated power management chip for dual-slot personal computing cards used in notebook and desktop computers, PDAs, digital cameras, set-top boxes and barcode scanners. All discrete power mosfets, a logic section, current limiting and thermal protection for PC card control are combined onto a single piece of silicon, giving system power designers a high level of integration to reduce component count and system cost.
