Precision references for cost-sensitive designs
Texas Instruments has a new family of low-power, low-dropout, series-mode CMOS voltage references featuring precision and stability at a low price
The REF30xx family offers high accuracy (0.2%), small size (SOT23-3), low drift (50ppm/C max) and low power consumption (50uA max) to improve the performance of portable and battery-powered devices (cellular phones, PDAs, notebook computers), data acquisition systems, optical networking control, handheld test equipment, automotive and a variety of systems that integrate precision data converters.

'The capacitive load stability and accuracy of these new references, coupled with tiny packaging and a low price, provides designers with a winning solution for a myriad of data conversion applications', said Tadija Janjic, strategic marketing engineer for TI's high-performance linear products.
'In addition, high output current, low dropout voltage and excellent initial accuracy make this family a perfect precision spot voltage regulator'.
The REF30xx family features 1.25, 2.048, 2.5, 3.3 and 4.096V output voltages.
The devices are able to source up to 25mA of output current and provide a versatile supply range up to 5.5V.
The references do not require a load capacitor, and are stable with any capacitive load.
Unloaded, the devices can be operated on a supply within 1mV of output voltage.
All models are specified over the extended temperature range of -40 to +125C.
The REF30xx family is priced from $0.59 in 1000 piece quantities (suggested resale pricing).
