Texas Instruments has introduced a single-supply instrumentation amplifier which incorporates a proprietary circuit technology to achieve exceptional rail-to-rail input/output performance

The INA326 is ideal for a wide range of general purpose to high accuracy applications found in optical networking, test and instrumentation, industrial process control, automotive and medical equipment. Considered the benchmark for precision signal acquisition, instrumentation amplifiers are ideal for extracting differential signals from interfering voltages to maintain accuracy in electrically noisy environments.

Low offset voltage (125uV max), low offset drift (1uV/C), very low 1/f noise, high common-mode rejection (110dB, G=100), and excellent long-term stability offer the high precision required in temperature sensors, pressure bridges, thermocouples, weigh scales, medical monitors and general purpose 12 to 16bit systems.

The autocalibration techniques in the INA326 assure very low offset voltage throughout the life of the product, thus eliminating customers' recalibration and drift concerns.

The device's true single supply operation (+2.7 to +5.5V), input common-mode range (20mV beyond rails), and wide output swing (within 10mV of rails) are critical to low-voltage battery-operated systems, buffering input for wide dynamic range analogue-to-digital convertors and current shunt measurements at ground.

The INA326's small package size and low price make it highly attractive for high-density layout in multichannel systems and low-profile PCMCIA computer cards.

The INA326 is packaged in an MSOP-8 and priced at $1.30 in 1000-piece quantities.

The device is specified over the extended industrial temperature range of -40 to +85C, with operation from -40 to +125C.

A power-saving counterpart device featuring synchronisation and shutdown, the INA327, is scheduled to be available in Q1 of 2002.

The INA327 will be packaged in an MSOP-10.
