Texas Instruments and Radvision are to bundle Radvision's Megaco/H.248 in TI's IP Phone and VoIP residential/small office home office (SOHO) gateway solutions

Texas Instruments and Radvision are to bundle Radvision's Megaco/H.248 in TI's IP phone and VoIP residential/small office home office (SOHO) gateway solutions. Customers purchasing a VoIP solution from TI will now have direct access to the Radvision protocol toolkits that best suit their development needs.

This approach shortens new product time-to-market and reduces development costs.

'This offering includes all the necessary silicon components, software and even a blueprint of how to build your IP phone or residential/SOHO gateway for manufacturers.

This solutions will make it simpler, quicker and easier for developers of VoIP communication devices', said Gadi Tamari, CEO of Radvision.

'Companies can concentrate on developing unique capabilities and innovative industrial designs for their devices because programming intense functionality and intelligence have been developed and integrated for them in the chipset.

The Texas Instruments-Radvision solution reduces the need for complex engineering and testing which are some of the biggest bottlenecks in developing new technologies'.

Both the IP Phone and residential/SOHO gateway solutions feature low-power, highly-integrated processors with TI DSP cores, RISC processors, and Telogy Software.

TI's IP phone solution features the TMS320C5472 and TI's VoIP codec, and the VoIP residential/SOHO gateway solution features the TNETV1010 processor.

TI-Radvision solution offers manufacturers all the system software and support needed for quick and easy development of IP phones and gateways.

'TI is dedicated to providing the silicon and software our customers require to address the needs of the VoIP market which is why we're working with Radvision to bundle Megaco and H.323 with our existing solutions', said Bill Simmelink, general manager, VoIP Business Unit at Texas Instruments.

'Customers will benefit from the incorporation of Radvision's protocol toolkits with TI's IP phone and VoIP gateway solutions to shortened their time-to-market and provide access to best-of-class technologies for their products'.

TI's Telogy Software products feature a variety of standards-based packet-network protocols and user interfaces for customer applications.

The VoIP software includes signaling, telephony and protocol-processing modules as well as network-management APIs.

The software addresses quality-of-service issues, such as network delay, jitter and lost packets, and incorporates compression, line-echo cancellation (G.168-compliant) and tone detection.

Customers can license a specific embedded Radvision toolkit that meets their development requirements.

Radvision has models for Megaco and H.323-based IP phones and H.323 media gateways and trunking gateways.
