Tenison EDA has named Ottawa's VLSI One as its Canadian representative, expanding the company's worldwide sales channels.
VLSI One is a new company specialising in representing leading companies in the fields of EDA and IC technologies.
"Tenison EDA has impressive technology and a list of successful customer engagements.
Tenison VTOC, the Verilog/VHDL to C/C++ modelling solution, offers significant improvements in productivity and time-to-market, and is ideally suited to the Canadian electronic design industry", said Richard Moses, President of VLSI One.
"Many small EDA companies offer superior and competitive technologies.
Our goal is to compete using these technologies by providing better solutions and better service".
"Leading Canadian technology companies were early adopters of our products, and Canada has always been an early priority in expanding our global sales and support network", said Jeremy Bennett, CEO of Tenison EDA.
"With over 250 companies engaged in ASIC and custom IC design, Canada is one of the top world markets, which EDA companies ignore at their peril".
Typical of Tenison's Canadian customers is an Ottawa company that has used VTOC to create a C model from the RTL of a multi-million-gate network processor.
The C model has allowed them to easily add new points of visibility into the hardware, and it runs about 10 times faster than compiled Verilog.
The C model is also easier to integrate with the rest of their software for initial testing.
