SMD isolators suit Tetra handsets
A range of SMD isolators is the first in a projected series of new microwave components for the growing European digital personal mobile radio market
The increase in demand for digital personal mobile radios (PMR) across Europe has led Temex to introduce a new range of SMD isolators, the first in a projected series of new microwave components for the PMR market. The RoHS compliant SMD chip isolators from Temex, designed to protect other microwave components from excessive signal reflection, cover the frequency range 380- 430MHz.

The new, low cost, drop-in isolators, with typical isolation of 12dB, a voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR) of 11dB and insertion loss of 1dB offer performance improvements over previously available devices.
Devices are available in clockwise and anticlockwise versions, with forward power input of 10W and reverse power of 2W.
The isolators are operational from -40 to +85C and are available in both 10 x 10 x 4 and 12 x 12 x 4mm form factors, tape and reeled in quantities of 500.
Chip isolators in other frequency bands available from Temex include: 360-400MHz for military and police applications; 300-310 and 330-360MHz for Russia; together with 410-430MHz for civil applications; and 406-470MHz for other markets.
