New programmable synthesiser PLLs from Temex can reduce BOM costs for high-performance microwave communication products from 100MHz to 2.5GHz. The first three devices of this new range are the 1050-1090MHz PLC1050, the 1550-1620MHz PLC1550 and the 2105-2175MHz PLC2105, enabling cost savings in GSM, DCS and UMTS applications, respectively. Temex is also able to quickly add new PLLs in this range to meet specific customer requirements in telecomms, professional or military communications requiring high performance as well as low cost.

The PLC series PLLs display low SSB phase noise, typically around 90dBc/Hz at 100kHz, as well as fast switching speed.

The PLC1050 and PLC1550 are designed for 200kHz channel spacing, and the PLC2105 supports 100 or 200kHz comparison frequency.

Output power is -1.0 to +3.0, 0.0 to +5.0 and -3 to +3dBm in the PLC1050, PLC1550 and PLC2105, respectively.

The devices are operated from a single 5V power supply, and programmed via a three-line parallel port.

Pump charge is also available as an option.

All Temex PLLs are packaged in the industry standard SMP3 surface-mount case measuring 19 x 14mm, and feature lead-free packaging technology for ISO14001 environmental compliance.

Temex also owns comprehensive in-house RF and microwave test capabilities including noise figure and S-parameter characterisation up to 26.5GHz, ensuring accurate and reliable performance over the lifetime of all products.
