At a meeting held at the recent National Association of Broadcasters' (NAB) Convention, Tektronix was recognised by the Society of Broadcast Engineers (SBE) for achieving its silver anniversary

As a 25-year Sustaining Member, Tektronix is a vital part of the SBE, helping to link individual members to the technology and products that drive the broadcast industry, as well as offering support to SBE programmes and events. "SBE members have been using Tektronix equipment to measure, monitor, and troubleshoot broadcast-related signals for more than three decades", said Todd Biddle, General Manager, Video Business, Tektronix: "It is an honour for Tektronix to help SBE members obtain and maintain skills and certification by providing local chapter training programmes, as well as in-depth seminars".

Formed in 1963, the Society of Broadcast Engineers is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the advancements of all levels of broadcast engineering.

SBE's certification programme recognises and raises the professional status of broadcast engineers by providing standards of professional competence.

Through the years, this programme has become recognised in the industry as the primary method of verifying the attainment of educational standards.

"The Society of Broadcast Engineers greatly appreciates the support provided by Tektronix over the past 25 years.

SBE has experienced much growth in that time, and the continued support provided by Tektronix as an SBE Sustaining Member has been an important key to that success", said Troy D Pennington, President, SBE.
