Teradyne Connection Systems Division (TCS) and NMS Communications have entered an outsourcing partnership agreement whereby NMS will consolidate all wired equipment manufacturing with Teradyne. Teradyne will provide EMS services including high performance integrated chassis for NMS Communication's voice quality systems installed worldwide. "As NMS strives to bring technology-leading products to market quickly at the lowest cost for our customers, the choice of supply chain partners is critical to our success.

Teradyne provides us with a wide breadth of technology solutions and experience in complex systems integration", said Herb Shumway, Vice President of NMS' Supply Chain Operations.

"We looked at the market for high-performance system components, such as backplanes and enclosures, and Teradyne was clearly the best choice".

Teradyne has been working with NMS since the early stages of its move into the voice quality systems business, providing design and applications engineering services to the company, and shipping the first products in early 2002.

As part of this expanded outsourcing agreement, Teradyne will now provide all electromechanical integration, programme management and test services for NMS' voice-quality systems.

Volume shipment of wired products as part of this expanded relationship began in the first quarter of 2003.

According to Bill Doherty, EMS Business Unit Manager, Teradyne Connection Systems, "The missions of Teradyne and NMS Communications are highly complementary - meet the expectations of our customers by bringing leading-edge technology to market fast at the lowest cost of acquisition.

We are pleased to be selected as the wired equipment partner for NMS and will be working very closely with their team throughout the products' life-cycle to exceed these expectations".
